This is the story that won’t go away but the immediate future of Andreas Skov Olsen should be revealed very soon.

Despite leaks from sources close to Ibrox stating that no bids have been made for the player, the Rangers links are continuing from Italian sources and one of those is from Bologna Sport News which has briefed that a 6 million EUR bid has arrived from the Scottish champions.

Meanwhile in Belgium, it has been reported that Skov Olsen is on the verge of reaching agreement with Club Brugge, with a similar fee mooted.

If Rangers are still in the race, we will find out very soon as this one seems unlikely to go the distance to the last day of the transfer window.

Skov Olsen operates essentially as a winger on the right flank, yet he is predominantly left footed. He has a particular skill, in the mould of Arjen Robben of cutting inside to great effect, though he does possess the ability to get to the byline.

Can and will Rangers really spend £5million pounds this month? That would be a significant statement of intent as supporters wait to see what further transfer business will follow this month. It is expected that Giovanni van Bronckhorst will have some funds to use and that could be bolstered with the Nathan Patterson sale.

Danish international Skov Olsen, 22, would be a smart signing and it could come down to how much van Bronckhorst wants him, weighed up against the budget constraints. The rest will come down to the players wishes, with other clubs such as Copenhagen, Midtjylland, Torino and Hertha Berlin also credited with an interest in the Danish press.
