The previous season turned out to be a bitter disappointment for Rangers supporters, although the emergence of Alfredo Morelos proved to be a positive aspect. His excellent performances has aroused interest from European sides; thus, it’s vital that Rangers retain the services of the Colombian forward.

According to Turkish Football,  Fenerbahce are interested in the services of the 21-year-old forward, and the Turkish side are poised to move for the talented striker. Since joining Rangers from Finnish team, HJK for a £1M, Morelos has performed tremendously well. The striker scored 14 league goals for the Gers and concluded the season with a praiseworthy total of 18 goals scored in all competitions.

However, Fenerbahce are in a position in which they can offer the forward Champions League football, which could convince the striker to make a move to Turkey.

If the Gers are going to reduce the gulf that exists between themselves and Celtic and attempt to curtail their rivals’ domestic dominance, it’s vital that the club retains the services of their best players. At the age of 21, there is still ample time for Morelos to improve, to refine and develop his game.  He has the potential to become a genuinely excellent centre-forward, and Rangers must certify that he continues that progression in Scotland.

The appointment of Steven Gerrard has breathed fresh impetus in the club. Despite only recently taking over at the helm, the Liverpool legend has been particularly busy, identifying and recruiting players to reinforce the quality of his squad. If Rangers are to return the glory to Ibrox Stadium, they must shape their side around their best players, and Morelos should be at the forefront of their team.

Under the guidance and stewardship of Steven Gerrard, one can envisage how Morelos will further his skills and understanding of the game. He should not be allowed to leave this summer.
