Jekyll and Hyde Gers looking for more of the same against Motherwell

Motherwell are your typical middle-of-the-table side, as far away from third place as they are from the bottom of the table but with one win in their last five games – α 5-0 win over Ross County – there is no way of predicting what sort of opposition will turn up.

The same could almost be said about Rangers.

Α bi-polar season has never been better exemplified than by what happened in the first 60 minutes against Liverpool then compared to the last 30 minutes, our Jekyll and Hyde European form continues to frustrate.

Domestically though, we have looked α lot better recently, controlling games for longer periods, creating more chances and scoring more goals. We have also looked more secure in defence.

The latter could be α bit of an issue for the foreseeable future though with Connor Goldson expected to be out or some time, the last thing that Giovanni van Bronckhorst would have wanted with α packed future list ahead is to lose α player who starts every game.

The heavy defeats to Celtic, Ajax and Liverpool have seen the pressure mount on the manager despite looking in good shape in the league but, even this early on in the season, there is no margin for error and the goal has to be to win every domestic game between now and the World Cup break.

Fir Park is never an easy place to go to but if we show the same desire and intensity from the first whistle as we have seen in recent weeks then we should be in α good place, however, with Goldson out, defending from the front just became even more important.
