Attack, attack, attack, the three pronged approach for Gers

There are only three ways in which we should approach the game against Motherwell this afternoon.

Attack, attack, attack.

We went toe to toe with Borussia Dortmund over two legs and came out on top, scoring six goals in the process, the Steelmen won’t open up quite as much as the Germans did but there is no reason for us to adopt a game plan that is any less aggressive.

Play without fear, press higher up, take risks to get the rewards. Yes, we dropped points last weekend but the attitude displayed from the players was spot on, we have to suffocate teams.

It sounds simple but getting the first goal is so important in games like this, it’s easier to control the tempo when you are in front rather than having to chase it. Trying to find space in a box with ten defenders is almost impossible and it only makes our task harder should we give up an advantage.

I’m hoping that Giovanni van Bronckhorst has learned from his mistakes and lets Fashion Sakala off the leash from the start, he might not be as neat and tidy as Scott Arfield but his work rate and directness in possession causes teams problems, he is also a goal scorer and you can never have too many of them on the pitch at the same time.

We need to go on a run of wins in the league now, we simply don’t have any other option if we want to retain the title, and attack, is always the best approach for this Rangers team.
