Alfredo Morelos has made all the right noises since being unceremoniously dumped from the Rangers squad, however, two top class performances against PSV Eindhoven and Ross County since his dismissal at Easter Road are a sign that we aren’t as reliant on him as we once were.

With Antonio Colak hitting seven goals in seven games, it’s safe to say that the Colombian international has a fight on his hands to get back into the starting XI.

There is a way back for Morelos though with Giovanni van Bronckhorst revealing that his decision has had the desired reaction, as reported by Football Scotland:

“Morelos worked hard this week so I’ll sit down tomorrow (Sunday) and speak with him and his future. He’s still our player, he knows what he has to do to become available again. The first week’s reaction he showed was very positive.”

Encouragingly, Morelos has posted another picture on his Instagram account of him scoring against Borussia Dortmund, a reminder to all that he fully intends to get back to his marauding best.

With Queen of the South up next, even if he isn’t 100%, it would be a good game for him to get a run out, however, he may have a bit of making up still to do.

The Old Firm derby might also come a bit too soon for him to start next weekend too, the manager will also be factoring in the form of his current centre-forward, there is no way that you can drop a striker who is in the form that Colak is currently in – a place on the bench for Morelos would give everyone a lift though, especially the fans.

El Bufalo has grown used to being the main man over the last few years, now, he has to prove that he still is – an ominous warning for defences everywhere.
