Clown? Waster? No, not Morelos as claimed by media but Kyogo the serial diver

|

Alfredo Morelos has missed 19 games through suspension since signing for Rangers, at times, he has shown signs of petulance and frustration but he’s never been dirty or tried to injure and opponent, he’s also never tried to con officials into getting fellow professionals set off, and yet, we have seen umpteen articles portraying him as some sort of pantomime villain.

Remember when he was called a “waster” by The Sun’s Bill Leckie, he’s also been brandished a “clown” by The Daily Record’s Keith Jackson. Two prominent, if unpopular, figures in the field of Scottish football singling out one individual for the most personal of criticism and yet, when there is a player who in just 12 league fixtures has deliberately attempted to get opposition players sent off on, at least four occasions, there is silence.

Kyogo Furuhashi was at it again against Hearts on Thursday night, this time it was John Souttar who was targeted, I’m only surprised that the towering centre-half didn’t launch him into row Z after this…

The SFA has had legislation in place since 2011 to deal with players like Furuhashi and yet there has been silence from the governing body with regards to his behaviour, this isn’t just “buying” a penalty or waiting for contact or exaggerating a foul – it’s running into a player then feigning injury or as with the case against Hearts, holding onto a player’s arm and then just falling over hoping for anything he can get.

He will keep doing it until he is punished, his antics nearly got them three points against Celtic only for justice to prevail but this won’t be the last time that his theatrics pay off, another team will fall foul to his cheating, I just hope it isn’t us – to think that they claim the referees and officials are all against them too….
