An on form and fit Alfredo Morelos is a truly wonderful sight, a one man reckon machine capable of bullying even the most experienced of defenders all on his own.

Having said that, I’m not sure that even he would have been able to do much with the service that Antonio Colak got off his Rangers team-mates against Union Saint-Gilloise, however, he may get the chance to pull us out of the hole that we have dug for ourselves – aided and abetted by the officials.

The news that Giovanni van Bronckhorst expects him to be available for the second leg is great news even if he isn’t fully fit with the Colombian’s latest Instagram post suggesting that he is fired up and ready to go.

We managed to muddle through at the end of last season without Morelos but it’s impossible not to notice his absence and what he brings to the team, especially in Europe.

With Ryan Kent, Kemar Roofe and Ianis Hagi also out, it’s easy to forget that we had a lot of key players missing against Union but, hopefully, with two of them back at some stage next week, Gio’s chances of pulling off a record breaking result will be significantly improved.

It might be a simple social media post but El Bufalo loves nothing more than playing and scoring goals and he will be dying to get back onto the pitch, wearing the famous Light Blue shirt, with 50,000 fans singing his name – if there is one man that can make an unlikely dream become a reality…
