Former Rangers winger Neil McCann has spoke in glowing terms about Gers midfield maestro Glen Kamara, paying him a very big compliment.

McCann stated that Kamara possesses the requisite qualities to be able to walk into the current midfield of Premier League Arsenal, his old club.

Of course, Neil McCann was the manager who signed the Finland international for Dundee and he knew soon after setting eyes on the player in training that he had to be signed, following a trial type arrangement.

As reported by the Scotsman, he was speaking as a pundit on Rangers TV at the weekend, during the Ross County game coverage.

McCann stated, “It’s ironic he left Arsenal because he was deemed not good enough.”

“I believe he could play for Arsenal now standing on his head, he’s that good. That boy has the ability to play at a very high level.”

“He’s shown it for Finland and Rangers but I hope he doesn’t go anywhere because I want to see him be a success and he is standing on the edge of winning a title.”

“It only took me five minutes with Glen (to see his ability and quality).”

“There wasn’t much to see in an Arsenal jersey but he’s got the pedigree and I was looking for a footballer who could be brave, take it off the centre-back and build from the back under pressure.

“After five minutes I knew he was a player and we’d found one.”

Kamara had previously impressed on the European stage in particular, in a blue shirt but this season he has stamped his authority and impact on the domestic stage too, adding consistency to an already growing reputation.

The man signed from Dundee for just £50, 000 looks set to earn Rangers a massive profit when he is eventually moved on, but that won’t be happening in the short term.

With EURO 2020 to follow, as well as the re-start of the Europa League next month, the shop window is very visible with the admirable Glen Kamara on full display.
