Record the laughing stock with McInnes to Rangers claim

|

We all know what Rangers relationship is like with The Daily Record, they, alongside the BBC are far from welcome within the walls of Ibrox and have to make do with looking in from the outside because of previous bad behaviour – like the misbehaving child on the naughty step.

This doesn’t stop the likes of Keith Jackson from appearing to be in the know though with his “exclusive” report late on Thursday night revealing that Rangers have Giovanni van Bronckhorst on their list of potential replacements for Steven Gerrard – a story Vital Rangers brought you first some 12 hours previously.

Not only this but he is insistent that Derek McInnes is another candidate being considered despite turning the job down already in 2017 when he had all but agreed to replace Pedro Caixinha, it’s safe to say that we have moved on considerably since then, he had his chance and he blew it.

That respected Rangers journalists and accounts on social media have completely ruled out McInnes says it all about The Record and their desperate attempts to maintain any sort of credibility when it comes to our club, they’re as in the know as the man on the street.

Even on a basic level of journalism, if you pay attention to what Ross Wilson has said before about long term planning, why would we go from a style of play that involved attacking full-backs and dominating possession to punting long balls and bypassing the midfield altogether?

We wouldn’t, it’s as simple as that.
