Rangers have had a strong window and you must give credit to the likes of Mark Allen and Steven Gerrard for the work that they have done in this summer’s market.

The likes of Joe Aribo and Sheyi Ojo should be very decent signings for this season whilst we have also seen a fair few players move away from Ibrox in different capacities.

Indeed, Ross McCrorie is one of those with him on loan at Portsmouth and Mark Allen has suggested that he has a bright future at Ibrox thereafter, especially if he can play regularly at Fratton Park.

Quoted by the club’s official website, Allen said:

“Ross is someone who we see with a bright, bright future here at Rangers. Similarly to Greg Docherty last year, I think we have seen the merits of Greg going out and playing regular, 40 to 50 games of football, and that is what we feel Ross needs to add to his armoury now.”

Certainly, it will be a fine achievement if McCrorie can do that for a good Portsmouth side and if he does do it he could be on course for a good future at Ibrox.

If he has a tough year, though, it remains to be seen what is going to happen with him. Indeed, if he doesn’t add that to his armoury as Allen puts it, it leaves him with a lot still to potentially prove.

It’s a big year for him without a doubt.
