Rangers man speaks out on January transfer rumours

|

On loan Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty doesn’t expect to be moving clubs during the January transfer window, despite interest from clubs such as Hull City and Rotherham.

Currently starring for Shrewsbury Town in English League One, he was last week linked with a move to the Championship due to his exceptional form this season.

However, he is fully focused on giving his all to his current side.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, the former Hamilton Accies man said:

I don’t read into that (speculation). If there’s talk then there’s talk, but I know that until people come to me with concrete things that I don’t listen to it.

To be honest it’s not in my mind at the moment. There’s so many games to concentrate on down here there’s no point looking that far ahead.

McKay is progressing very well at Shrewsbury so I am pleased to hear he will likely remain there for the rest of the season rather than moving and having to fit in elsewhere.

He is getting plenty of action, playing 31 times for the relegation threatened club. In that time he has scored seven goals and assisted eight more, so is certainly making a big contribution.

Hopefully it pays off and we see him make a push for a starting place in Steven Gerrard’s side come the summer.
