It’s been too long since we’ve had a proper ding-dong title race in Scotland and it looks as though we’re going to get one this year.

Celtic have been kept honest by us all season and now we’re getting towards the biggest games, we’re well in touch with them.

Indeed, we’ve made signings to close the gap whilst they have floundered in the market and it would appear we’re set-up for a showdown.

That said, though, Steven Gerrard has issued praise for Celtic and said that they are the team to beat – but not without a warning for them as we head into the final months of the campaign.

As quoted by the Daily Record, Gerrard said:

“I still think Celtic are the team to beat and catch. They have the know-how.

“They remain the champions as we speak, so we are not going to sit here and boast or predict anything that’s too early to predict.”

“What we will say is that we will give it everything we’ve got.”

Of course, they have the recent upper-hand but, let’s be honest, they were going to win without us there.

Now we’re back, they’re already beginning to choke and so, this season, I think we could well be back where we belong.

  • Always funny when Sevconians start believing their own propaganda. Like all diddy teams you follow up an unexpected win against the top team with yet another flop in a match you all thought you’d win. 6 points to make up now – and it might be more by the start of next week. The title is staying home, where it belongs: this season, next season – every season
