Rangers man goes through Ibrox exit door

|

Rangers take on Progres tonight in the Europa League but it is safe to assume that Kyle Lafferty is not going to be a part of things this evening or for the season.

The striker has been knocked down the pecking order in recent months at Ibrox after a frustrating season at the club last year and it is clear now that he is heading for a new club.

Indeed, Steven Gerrard confirmed as much when explaining why he’ll be moving on in his quotes pre-game.

Quoted by the Scottish Sun, the former midfielder revealed:

“He’s a good character to have around but if I had kept hold of him from a selfish point of view then he would have struggled for game-time. He’s still young enough and he still has the drive and hunger to be a success at whatever he decides to do.”

Lafferty is on his way, then, and it just remains to be seen where he is going to end up from here on.

He’s a good player but he wasn’t consistent enough in his latest spell at Ibrox and I think that he will hold his hand up and admit that.

A shame, but I think that it is for the best that he moves on in this window.
