Rangers loan player’s future uncertain after wages not paid

|

Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter’s future at English League Two side Bury is uncertain after his wages were not paid on time in March, according to The Scottish Sun.

The 22-year-old joined the promotion hopefuls on a loan until the end of the season in January and has gone on to make 11 appearances, but is the loan deal now at risk if the player is not receiving his salary?

A Bury statement said of the situation affecting the entire club: “We value our players and staff and they were all informed last week. The chairman and the board of directors remain fully committed to resolving the situation as quickly as possible, to ensure that the club can move forward and maintain our push for promotion.”

Rossiter badly needs first-team football to develop further as a central midfielder and with his contract not expiring at Ibrox until 2020, everyone will be hoping his current spell away from the club allows him to return and push for a first-team place this summer.

However, playing under a cloud of financial uncertainty is never good for anyone and hopefully these recent developments are not having too much of an impact.

Clearly this is a situation that Rangers will be monitoring.
