Chris Cadden has been linked with a move to Rangers by BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton, who claimed during commentary for Motherwell’s match against Clyde on Saturday that the Ibrox side are interested in signing him.

The right-sided player’s contract runs out in less than a year, putting Motherwell in a difficult position given his exceptional form for the Steelmen in recent seasons. He signed his last deal back in November of 2016.

He’s been one of the stand-out players for a Motherwell side that reached two cup finals last season, ultimately losing out to Celtic in both.

The 21-year-old scored four goals and assisted nine times in 2017/18, providing an effective attacking outlet on their right flank with his high energy and fearless style.

Rated at £540,000 by Transfermarkt, the player’s performances have been were good enough to win a call-up to the Scotland squad, winning two caps against Peru and Mexico in the country’s last two internationals.

Admittedly Chris Sutton isn’t the best source of transfer gossip, but it’s still an interesting possibility and although he’s thought to have grown up a Celtic fan, he could be a really useful squad member at Ibrox.

With high potential and re-sale value too, if the club can pick him up fairly cheap, then why not?
