The Rangers team to face Ross County in today’s important Premership clash has been confirmed, with a debut for Amad Diallo as well as a surprise reprieve for Cedric Itten who keeps his place from midweek.

Gio van Bronckhorst’s team to face the Staggies is as follows:

Allan McGregor – James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Calvin Bassey, Borna Barisic – Glen Kamara, Scott Arfield, Joe Aribo – Ryan Kent, Cedric Itten, Amad Diallo.

On the bench is  Jon McLaughlin – Leon King – John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, James Sands, Alex Lowry – Scott Wright, Kemar Roofe, Fashion Sakala.

A few changes and plenty to ponder.

Alex Lowry and Fashion Jnr can consider themselves somewhat unlucky to be on the bench given their impact midweek against Livi but for the former it is is important to manage expectations and not to expect too much, too soon.

The champions give a welcome return to Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent, as well as super Scott Arfield in from the start following his cracking winning goal on Wednesday.

It’s a big vote of confidence for Itten who needs to perform after two very average displays most recently, that call wasn’t expected by most. Kemar Roofe remains on the bench, ready to make his claim.

Three points

Today is all about winning, the conditions mean pretty football is not likely at all.

Diallo will be the one to watch. Just what impact can the Man Utd loanee make on his intro to Scottish football on a day like today. Lots of talking points ahead and plenty of matters set to unfold in the Highlands.

Kick-off in wild and windy Dingwall is at 12.30pm.
