You could hear a collective sigh of relief roll around Ibrox last night as the Gers saw off the Villarreal challenge to draw 0-0 in the Europa League.
Once it became clear that a win was going to be too tough to get, it was imperative that we didn’t lose and we duly managed to see that happen.
A fine defensive display was put in and across the board the Gers impressed and rose to the threat that the Spanish side posed.
Allan McGregor, of course, will get most of the plaudits but the men in front of him deserve praise too, even if they are joining in with the goalkeeper toast.
