Club legend Ian Durrant believes there’s no more room for error at Rangers this season, claiming Steven Gerrard’s side will now have to go unbeaten to lift any silverware, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The Gers find themselves eight points adrift of league leaders Celtic with just 12 games remaining and although we face the Hoops twice between now and the end of the season, it’s a long way back to lift a 55th league title.

Durrant believes major honours are still achievable, but that a magical invincible run is now required.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, the former Gers midfielder said:

They now know they can’t make another mistake. There’s no room for error if they want to challenge in the Cup and the league.

If Rangers have any aspirations of catching Celtic they have to go unbeaten now and hope that there are some twists and turns and Celtic drop points.

The gap’s eight points, a lot to bridge, but they’ve still to play each other twice. So Rangers need to go on a run and Celtic need to lose four games, which is as many as they’ve lost all season.

Both Rangers and Celtic have both lost four matches this season, but it’s been the inability of Steven Gerrard’s side to turn draws into wins that has left our title bid in the balance.

A poor mentality and ill discipline has left us searching for better results against lower quality opposition and we need to be much stronger in both departments in the final third of the league season.

Celtic have a tricky run of matches coming up, facing in form Motherwell, Aberdeen and Hearts, meaning they could well drop points at a critical stage of the season.

Rangers must be there to capitalise and now string together consistent victories, or our entire season will go off the rails.
