On Wednesday, Rangers confirmed the signing of Matt Polster, who moved to the club from MLS outfit Chicago Fire. He’ll offer us some much-needed depth in defence and midfield, and it appears as though he recognises exactly what he’s signed up for.
It’s always tough to know what to expect when joining a big team like Rangers, especially if you’re coming from a team outside of Europe, but Polster already has a pretty good idea, it seems.
Matt Polster: “The locker rooms are amazing, the stadium is amazing and the fans are amazing, so I’m excited to get out there.”

Clearly, he’s been impressed by everything at the club, and that bodes well. It’s a big move for him, of course, but he’s not taking anything lightly. Everything is a step up for him, and that will hopefully encourage his game to improve too.
We aren’t expecting him to come in and immediately demand a starting berth, but he will offer Steven Gerrard another option at the back and in the middle of the pitch, and that could be invaluable heading into the second half of the season.
Hopefully we’ll get to see what he can do sooner, rather than later.
Thoughts?
