The Rangers team that lined up to face Hibs should be the one that starts against Celtic in the Scottish Cup next weekend, if the fixture goes ahead as planned.
Kevin Thomson made a great point in commentary, it was nothing huge but one that should be considered ahead of the derby.
Steven Gerrard has very rarely been able to play his first-choice front three of Ryan Kent, Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos and, after playing together against Hibs, they have at least had one game to renew their acquaintance ahead of such a huge fixture.
Thomson referred to Roofe and Morelos as being similar to Man United pair Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, there was a noticeable difference with how close they were playing together and there were early signs of a promising partnership. On a few occasions they were inches away from setting each other up through intricate passing or clever dummies.

It also occupies the central defenders a lot more which leaves Kent free to orchestrate things from deep and score the type of goal he scored from long range against the capital side, he has a lot more room to run into if Morelos and Roofe are occupying the centre-halves.
It will be interesting to see how Gerrard sets up against Celtic, personally I’d like us to match their diamond with Ryan Kent operating in the space between midfield and attack, we have the luxury of flexibility with our personnel and if our own version of Yorke and Cole are firing on all cylinders, we could be in for a treat.
