It’s pretty clear what Rangers current problem is, at first, we weren’t creating enough chances, now, we aren’t scoring enough of the ones we create.

Saturday saw us have our most dominant league performance and yet we still only emerged with a draw, a mixture of inept finishing and inept goalkeeping costing us all three points in a game we really should have won.

Our strikers are yet to hit top form with Alfredo Morelos in particular coming under fire for the number – and quality – of chances he missed against Hearts, something that needs to be rectified as soon as possible.

For Kenny Miller though, the result was not a surprise, the former Gers striker speaking to Sky Sports about the top of the table clash:

“For me, I think this result has potentially been coming.

“When you are 1-0 up and you are on top and you’ve had the chances that Rangers had, you need to punish teams.

“Because when you get to that stage and it’s still 1-0, or sometimes even when it is 2-0, you can always get pegged back.

“And when you concede in the last minute, there is obviously not a lot of time to recover from that to go and get the three points.

Miller is, of course, right. The last four league games have seen us create enough chances to score at least nine goals – in terms of expected goals – and yet we have only scored five, this means that opposition teams are being kept in games, not by anything they are doing, but because of our own problems – and any team can score from a set-piece, especially if your keeper flaps at a corner.
In Kemar Roofe and Morelos, we have two top quality strikers who have carried us before, it is only a matter of time before they start firing and put teams to bed earlier, if we don’t, we could well be seeing a repeat of the draw against Hearts which is something that none of us want to endure again.
