Just as Rangers have started to get bodies back fit again with Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent returning to action, another has returned from international duty in less than perfect condition.

As yet we don’t know what or how injured Kemar Roofe is but after being sent home by Jamaica, the striker could be set for a period on the sidelines.

Speaking to Football Insider, injury expert Ben Dinnery has claimed that it doesn’t look good for Rangers:

“It’s often the case that players will return from international duty early when they’ve picked up a knock and they are back for the following game.

“Sometimes there is nothing at stake. In that case, players are more likely to be sent back with just a knock.

“But that he was released from the squad when Jamaica could still possibly qualify for the World Cup is worrying.

“I would definitely rule him out for the next game, and I would suggest he’ll be a doubt for the next few as well.“

Hopefully the issue isn’t with his troublesome calf, an injury that saw him miss large periods of last season, worryingly though the club has yet to issue a statement as to what is actually wrong with him so there will be an element of fear, especially ahead of such  congested fixture list.

Fashion Sakala seems to have finally settled in to life at Ibrox and Alfredo Morelos can be relied upon, however, it does leave us short when we are playing twice  week for the foreseeable future.

Fingers crossed that Dinnery is wrong and that the Jamaican medical team sent him home because he wasn’t going to be fit for their second game and decided that he would be better off at Ibrox to give him the best chance of making the semi-final against Hibs at the weekend.
