Rangers Keep The Pressure On With Hearts Victory

Rangers were back in Scottish Premiership action on Sunday afternoon as we welcomed so far unbeaten table-toppers Heart of Midlothian to Ibrox.

Three first-half goals gave us a comfortable 3-1 victory with Ryan Kent opening the scoring in the third minute of the game before Alfredo Morelos bagged another goal ten minutes later. Scotty Arfield finished our scoring just after the half-hour mark as we sent them to their first defeat of the campaign.

Hopes of a second-half fightback were diminished as they found themselves reduced to ten men for two bookable offences and Michael Smith saw himself depart for an early bath, but their consolation strike from Jimmy Dunne with just over 20 minutes remaining in the game didn’t prove to be too problematic as we saw the game out.

Steven Gerrard sees his side rise into sixth place with the win and it is our tenth game on home soil without defeat across all competitions.

Onwards and upwards.
