Rangers have, this week, been linked with a move for Dundee United’s Jeando Fuchs, the defensive midfielder standing out as one of the best players outside of Glasgow despite his side’s 3-0 loss to Celtic at the weekend.

He has impressed against us already this season and he will be lining up against us in the next couple of weeks, hopefully he plays well but is on the losing team ahead of a potential pre-contract move in January.

Speaking on the speculation, his manager Thomas Courts said of the Cameroon international:

“Even today, from Jeando’s performance and throughout the last few weeks, you can see he is a top player not just for us but also in this league.

“I have always gone on record as saying if any players, particularly the top performing ones, have aspirations to get to the top level then the types of club you mentioned will naturally be interested.

“Jeando is a focused guy and our relationship is really strong and he likes to do his talking on the pitch, so yes, there is not much more I can say on that.”

Every now and then the SPFL produces a gem, one of the other non-Old Firm sides finds a player that might be struggling elsewhere and gives them the opportunity to take a step back before climbing back up the footballing ladder – Glen Kamara the perfect example of this.

Who did GvB make his competitive Rangers debut against as a player?

Fuchs himself has said that Rangers have been in contact with him so there is every possibility that we are looking to bring him in when the transfer window opens in just a few weeks time.

We all love seeing a multi-million pound signing of an established player that we all know, but for us to become a truly profitable operation, Fuchs is exactly the type we need to sign – young, an international, proven in the league – what’s not to like?
