Rangers have been in contact with the agents of Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann, currently on loan at Kilmarnock, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The 24-year-old Austrian has shown some excellent form for Killie this season, making 22 appearances in all competitions since November and keeping 10 clean sheets.

With his future at the Premier League side unknown, he’s revealed that Rangers showing interest.

As quoted by The Scottish Sun, the shot-stopper said:

Rangers have made contact with my English agents.

Of course it is pleasing that people have taken notice of my performances.

But for now I will focus exclusively on Kilmarnock.

From June onwards I will be a Watford player once more, and I want to make my name in the Premier League.

Right now I am only bothered about helping Kilmarnock achieve their objectives.

With Ben Foster firmly installed as Watford’s number one, there isn’t much chance of him getting football at his parent club. His contract expires in 2020, so this is a critical summer for the player and the Gers may be able to pick him up fairly cheaply.

Allan McGregor is in the twilight years of his career and so a long-term replacement will be needed. Is Wes Foderingham that man? If not then Bachmann could be a viable alternative.
