According to Swedish outlet Expressen, full-back Martin Olsson is of interest to Rangers this summer but they face a battle for him from Nottingham Forest.

The Swedish international has recently left Swansea City and is available on a free this window which is probably why we are interested.

In his early 30’s, he still has plenty to offer whilst he also could help address a problem position on the pitch for a rather cheap fee.

He’s a strong runner with a powerful left foot on him and so it has all the hallmarks of a signing that could do really well for us.

However, as mentioned, Forest are also keen and they too need a new left-back option so it could come down to who convinces him to join most of all.

Both are big clubs, of course, but one will be challenging for top honours next season and the other has a decent shout of promotion but little else.

I know who I’d rather join – then again, I would say that!
