Rangers have been given a boost in their search to boost their forward line with the news that cash-strapped Hibs could be willing to sell Florian Kamberi for as little as £150,000.

The Daily Record has reported that the Easter Road side’s need to reduce the wage bill is behind the fire sale with Kamberi thought to be one of the highest earners.

Although he wouldn’t be considered good enough to replace the likes of Alfredo Morelos, he made enough of an impact off the bench to suggest that he could be a valuable asset over the course of a season.

Rangers would also be able to sign the 25-year old knowing that his value would instantly rise and could make a profit on his sale if the transfer didn’t work out, Transfermarkt value him at £500k but if he was to push on from his positive start at Ibrox and force his way into the Albanian national team, they could expect to see double that for a player approaching their peak.

Who will provide Rangers strips for the 2020/21 season?

Kamberi would be an instant upgrade on Brandon Barker and Sheyi Ojo, who fulfilled a similar role last season, he may not have the same level of technical ability as the pair, but his pace, direct style of play and positivity was enough to change the pattern of play on more than one occasion when he was introduced off the bench.

He was also unlucky not to get a goal against Braga when he deputised for the suspended Morelos through the middle of the attack and proved that he could be relied up on when needed, his link up play with Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent created several openings against the Portugues side.

There had been doubts about whether or not Kamberi was of the quality required for Rangers to reach their holy grail of winning the Scottish Premiership but for the price being quoted it really would be the proverbial no brainer.
