According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers remain hopeful that they can get a deal done for Ryan Kent after he returns with Liverpool from their pre-season tour of the United States.

The young winger was excellent for the Gers last season as he won the Young Player of the Year award and it seems safe to assume he’d have a similar impact for us if he joined again for the season coming.

However, Liverpool are reluctant to let him leave on loan this summer and would rather sell, so they have looked to delay things by taking him away for the next two weeks.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, though, is still hopeful that he can get the player signed after the tour is finished – though we will have to act swiftly after that as Liverpool are bound to want to have their squad finalised before the Premier League begins.

A patient approach appears to be the order of the day for now, though.
