Rangers hit with injury hammer blow

Rangers midfielder Graham Dorrans is set for a further spell on the sidelines after manager Steven Gerrard confirmed he is to have a consultation with a surgeon, as reported by The Daily Record.

Dorrans only returned to action in September after nearly a year out with ankle and knee injuries, making three appearances against Ayr United, Villarreal and St Johnstone.

Overall, he has made just 23 appearances since joining the club last summer, which is a disappointing return on what was a high profile signing.

It’s unlikely he’s on the cheapest wages at Ibrox too, so there are resources not being put to good use.

Of course, the player will be as disappointed as anyone. He appeared to love playing for Rangers when first breaking into Pedro Caixinha’s starting eleven and it’s been a tough time for him.

Hopefully his ongoing problems aren’t as serious as requiring more invasive surgery and we see him on the pitch sooner rather than later.
