Rangers hero underlines main problem at club after developments in last couple of weeks

|

Rangers fell further behind in the title race at the weekend with a set of results that really should have and could have gone another way.

Against St Johnstone we put in another ponderous display and that is something we have seen too often this campaign if we’re to be winning the league.

Coupled with Celtic’s win, we’re now eight points off of the top of the league and it is pretty clear at the moment we’re starting to look up against it.

What’s also clear is that with Alfredo Morelos up top we are not as good a team – who would be – and Ally McCoist has underlined that.

With Chris Sutton hammering him on BT Sport and saying it is his discipline that’s cost us a chance at the title, McCoist found it hard to disagree.

He said:

“It’s difficult to argue, really

“Also, you have to say the flip side of the coin. He’s the main reason Rangers have been successful to an extent this season, he’s also the reason they’re not doing better because sitting in the stand is absolutely no good to him.

“It’s a little bit of a contradiction. We spoke about him before – he’s without doubt one of the most talented players in the league but he has a problem with discipline.”

Of course, he’s also helped us this season but if he’d been on the pitch more imagine how close the title race would actually be.
