Fans of other Scottish football sides are again fuming this weekend, believing that Rangers striker Jermain Defoe dived against Kilmarnock.
The on loan Bournemouth man went down in the box despite little contact in the second half last night, with many coming up with the automatic accusation that he was trying to win a penalty.
Supporters are far too quick to break out the cheating card, with the far more likely explanation being that he was trying to avoid another clattering challenge from the Killie defender.
It was another ‘dive’ that Defoe failed to even claim to the referee, so in what sense is he trying to win a penalty?
It doesn’t make sense, but the reaction from the masses is again hilarious, with Rangers being at the centre of all the usual cheating conspiracy theories over the last week.
If it’s not diving then it’s the referees giving us everything and if it’s not that then it’s Celtic being denied decisions.
All nonsense of course.
These fans took to Twitter this weekend to fume…
Ooooft. Defoe with a Tom Daleyesque dive in the box. No booking. No mention of it by @TomCommentator on @RangersTV for some reason ????

Nice to see Sportscene totally ignoring the blatant Defoe dive….they lack as much consistency as the hopeless refs #killiebashing

That dive from Defoe looks worse every time I see it. Easy decision for any retrospective procedure…

How was Defoe not booked for that dive? ????????????

@chris_sutton73 do you think it’s shocking Defoe’s dive and the fact that a man who said Clarke had no class without mentioning a name just the incident then proceeds to name power to be looked at by sfa gerrard has let himself done was wondering what your thoughts are

Defoe dive yesterday a joke btw, yet he it’s ok cause he didn’t claim! He didn’t claim last week v us and got a pen. So can you dive but not claim and it’s ok then?

Another blatant dive from Defoe trying to steal a penalty. Not booked…again.

Did I just miss it or did @MrJonSutherland and @mstewart_23 just forget to discuss that Defoe dive. You know the one where he went down in the box, held his leg but never got a pen? Broadfoot fouling on the half way line was much more interesting obviously.
