Rangers given slight financial setback

Rangers take on Hearts this weekend in the semi-finals of the Betfred Cup as we battle the men from Tynecastle Park for a place in the final later this month.

At stake, the right to play Celtic or Hibernian and, indeed, the chance to end Celtic’s domestic domination at long last.

We need to produce the goods, then, and it’ll be up to the senior players in the side to guide the team through and get the result that we all want to see come about.

Away from senior matters, though, some news involving former youth player Billy Gilmour won’t exactly be welcomed.

Indeed, according to the Scottish Sun, the Gers were fined £7,800 for entering into an ‘illegal third party’ agreement with the team that signed him from us, Chelsea.

It’s not a massive financial setback, of course, and we’ll move on from it quickly but, even so, we do need to think about this sort of thing carefully.
