Van Bronckhorst to Rangers announcement “close”

|

It seems like only a matter of time before Giovanni van Bronckhorst is announced as the next Rangers manager, there has been nothing reported that suggests otherwise, even if the club has claimed that there are more candidates.

From day one, even before Steven Gerrard left for Aston Villa, Gio was the man who ticked the most boxes and made the most sense, the fact that he is available to start immediately is an added bonus – especially with such big games on the horizon.

One source that has been leading the way over the last week has been The 4th Official who, on their Patreon site, has claimed that it is a done deal and it is just a matter of time before the Dutchman returns to Ibrox:

“I am however hearing from a good source that an announcement is close to being announced by Rangers. It’s a really good source but a single one, hence my hesitation in putting it out there.

“The meeting was ‘really really positive’  between van Bronckhorst and Rangers on Saturday. The expectation at the time was that it will be done relatively soon.

“According to my source, we shouldn’t be surprised if van Bronckhorst is announced by Rangers in the next 24-48 hours.”

There has been speculation on social media about flights from the Netherlands and at Ibrox about modifications to the Blue Room, almost as if there is going to be a presentation of some sort in the next couple of days, with fans now all in on Van Bronckhorst being the man to take charge.

We have lost a modern day legend of the game when Gerrard left, and yet, we are about to replace him with someone who has won more trophies as a player and as a manager, it makes a pleasant change from having Graeme Murty in charge for six months, almost as if we know what we are doing now.
