It’s pretty safe to assume that PSV Eindhoven won’t turn up at Ibrox and pack their defence with 11 men, a team with Joey Veerman and Xavi Simons in their ranks is always going to be more suited to playing on the front foot.

In five competitive games they have scored five goals twice, four and three goals once and look every bit the team designed by a goalscorer as ruthless as manager Ruud van Nistelrooy was in his playing days.

They’ve also, nearly, conceded two goals per game which shows that they still have plenty of room for improvement and have areas of their game that can be exploited.

Speaking to Rangers TV after the match, via the official website, Giovanni van Bronckhorst is looking forward to the challenge and had some good news ahead of a massive game:

“We are ready. We have two days to prepare and make the players fresh again and make sure we have our game plan in mind and execute the game plan as best as possible.

“We have our normal preparations and that doesn’t change. It is a big game for us.

“I expect both [Ryan Kent and James Sands] to be available for the game on Tuesday – it was a little bit too short for both and I think they will be back for Tuesday.”

It’s good to see that it looks as though we have finally found a way to win without both Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos being available from the start, when you consider that Kemar Roofe, Joe Aribo and Ianis Hagi are also not in the starting XI shows that Gio has been able to effectively rebuild our attack this summer.

This Rangers team just doesn’t seem to suit being pragmatic, the away games that we have lost in Europe provide pretty good evidence of this, but it will take a brave manager to repeat what we did against Borussia Dortmund and set up to out score PSV.

It’s going to be a fascinating tie over the two legs with two managers who know each other well who both want their teams to attack with pace and intensity, only one will come out on top – let’s hope it’s the famous Glasgow Rangers.
