So you’re telling me there’s a chance?

When Goal hinted that Rangers are one of the five teams that could be Gareth Bale’s next destination, it provided a welcome distraction from the near permanent heart attack that is thinking about the Europa League final.

There is, of course, only one reason that this rumour came about and it’s from the speculation about Aaron Ramsey’s future and whether or not he will extend his stay at Rangers, this week he confirmed that nothing will be decided, or even considered, until the end of the season. Still though, the thought of having the Welsh pair in our line-up is like something from Football Manager.

Speaking to Portugal’s Record, Bale’s agent, Jonathon Barnett, confirmed that his client will be leaving Real Madrid with much of his decision about his future being based on Wales and whether or not they qualify for the World Cup next winter, there is ever chance that if they don’t qualify, that the 32-year old with 102 international caps will simply hang up his boots:

“He leaves Real Madrid, but we have to wait for what Wales will be able to do.

“It all depends on whether Wales qualify for the World Cup, then we will make a decision, which may vary whether or not Wales go to the World Cup.

“Is it more likely to return to England? I think so, but we’ll have to wait and see if Wales qualifies for the World Cup.”

So, he didn’t exactly rule Rangers out did he? Some of the best golf courses in the world are in Scotland but I’m not quite sure that, and the chance to play with his best mate, will quite be enough to persuade him to come to Glasgow, you never know though…
