Rangers have been linked with a move for Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones in the final week of the summer transfer window.

TEAMtalk report that the Ibrox side are ready to step in with £500,000 offer for the Northern Ireland international, rivalling Celtic, Swansea City, Sheffield United and Hull City for his signature.

From the moment Jamie Murphy suffered his season-ending ACL injury against Kilmarnock, it seemed inevitable that the club would go out and a sign a viable replacement, with Steven Gerrard’s squad looking a bit light in the wide areas without him.

Jordan Jones would certainly go a long way towards providing a solution to the dilemma after an impressive 12 months in Killie colours.

He scored four goals and created ten assists in the 2017/18 season for Steve Clarke’s side, emerging as one of the stand-out attacking talents in the Scottish Premiership.

It was good enough form to earn caps for the Northern Ireland national side.

As affordable options go, the Gers could do a lot worse and despite links to other wingers recently, Jones is worth keeping an eye on before Friday’s transfer deadline.
