Rangers on-off transfer saga over Rapid Vienna striker Nikica Jelavic looks like it’s finally over with Rapid admitting the player is set to move for £4.1 million.

The striker has his heart set on a move to Rangers, so much so that according to sky sports news he refused to play in tonight’s Europa League play-off between Rapid Vienna and Aston Villa.

Jelavic is bound to be popular with the Rangers fans due to his determination to sign for the club together with the fact he scored against Celtic last season.

The Croatian striker could be the new Dado Prso and with a decent goal scoring record he could also replace the goals scored by Kris Boyd.

This could be an excellent signing for Rangers. I never thought I would see Rangers sign a player for this amount of money again with the way the finances are. Here’s hoping he is money well spent.
