Spanish side Real Betis will not be making a £20m move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos anytime soon, according to The Daily Record, despite reports in Spain suggesting otherwise.

It was reported during the week that the Colombian had emerged as a transfer target for the La Liga side, worrying fans that they might be on the verge of saying goodbye to the popular striker.

However, sources at the Spanish club have told The Record that no such plans are in place with manager Quique Setien yet to learn of his transfer budget ahead of next season.

We can at least breathe a sigh of relief on the Morelos exit front for now, although it’s unlikely to be the last time the 22-year-old is linked with a move away from Glasgow this summer.

His 29 goals have taken Scottish football by storm throughout 2018/19 and likely put him on the radar of plenty of cash rich clubs in the top leagues on the continent.

Still, we have him contracted at Ibrox until 2023 and hold all the cards when it comes to his departure.

If he does go in the upcoming transfer window then we will be handsomely rewarded.
