According to Czech publication iSport, Rangers are looking into the possibility of signing Simon Deli from Slavia Prague this summer.

The Ivorian international is 27-years-old and very strong with him playing for his country and operating at centre-half.

Certainly, it is clear that the Gers have been looking to add to their defence this summer with George Edmundson coming in – eventually – whilst Joe Worrall going back to Forest probably enhanced the need for additions.

It’s going to be interesting to see exactly what the Gers can do with Deli if he does sign, with him apparently having a £1.8m release clause in his contract – something that makes him pretty affordable for sure.

He’s got European experience, too, with him playing for the side from the Czech capital in the Europa League last season – against the likes of Chelsea.

There’s plenty going for him, then, but it remains to be seen if Steven Gerrard looks to complete a deal.
