Rangers’ UEFA Europa League opponents Spartak Moscow are considering sacking manager Massimo Carrera after a poor start to the season, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The paper reckon that the Russian Premier League outfit are considering Laurent Blanc as a potential replacement for the under fire Carrera, with their season rapidly spinning out of control.

Spartak were knocked out of UEFA Champions League qualifying by PAOK in August and failed to win a single league or European match in September, losing to Rapid Vienna on matchday one of the group stage.

The Italian boss is expected to be in charge for tomorrow’s clash with Villarreal but defeat against the Spaniards could force him out just a few weeks before they make the trip to Ibrox to face Rangers.

They aren’t the only side with management drama in the group, tomorrow’s Austrian visitors are kicking off their first match under new manager Dietmar Kuhbauer after sacking Goran Djuricin at the weekend.

Can Rangers take advantage of uncertainty in both camps and forge a path ahead towards qualification for the knock-out stages after a positive result in Spain?
