After defeating Livingston 1-0at the Toni Macaroni Arena last night, Rangers will now face Hearts in the semi-finals of the Betfred League Cup.

A battling, if uninspired performance saw Rangers edge the tie thanks to a deflected Glen Kamara effort for his second goal for the Glasgow giants early in the first half.

With numerous controversial refereeing decisions from Don Robertson, Rangers fans were glad just to have made it through to the next round – if BT pundit, Chris Sutton, had had his way Rangers would’ve finished with 9 men – with just the injury of Joe Aribothe only real concern.

It is the Gers fourth consecutive appearance in the semi-finalsof the league cup and they will be hoping to make it a first final appearance under Steven Gerrard, who is desperate to win the first elusive piece of silverware since 2011.

Rangers fans took to twitter to express their delight at the cup draw.
