Transfer silly season is well and truly upon us and the latest rumour involving Rangers is something that a couple of years ago would have seemed an awful lot more ridiculous than it does now.

Danny Murphy, on co-hosting duties during Talksport‘s drive-time show claimed that Dele All should consider a move to the Light Blues to kick start his somewhat stuttering career under Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur, let’s remember, this is a player who was once linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid for over £70million.

The 24-year old England international – valued at £46.8m on transfermarkt – has seen his stock plummet recently having once been hailed as the long-term future of his country’s national team after beating the likes of Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard to 50 Premier League goals.

Glasgow Live reported the former Liverpool midfielder’s comments in which he thinks Alli should head to Glasgow until the end of the season:

“I’m not sure Dele would be up for it, but I thought maybe Stevie G at Rangers could persuade him to go there and win him the title.

“He’d play every week, score a lot of goals, get his confidence up and impress Gareth Southgate.

“There is an argument to say ‘would that be enough scoring at that level?’ because it is a drop down. But I don’t know.

“Maybe playing under Stevie is something that he would enjoy.”

Will we see Dele Alli at Rangers?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Although it’s not quite on the same scale, not many Rangers fans believed we would get Jermain Defoe or Ianis Hagi and yet here we are, however, Alli is a totally different story, at the moment he is just not getting the game time that a player of his quality should be getting and, with all due respect, should be playing at a higher level than the Scottish Premiership, but, you never know…
