It would be nice to have an international break where we can just relax and enjoy not having the regular stress that comes with watching Rangers at this time of the season, however, life just isn’t that straight forward.

At the last count we had four, maybe five, statements from various parties, with the reality being that the ill-fated trip to Australia and the Old Firm friendly is the root of a vast majority of the problems.

One of the issues is that public statements are being made when we have no idea what is going on behind the scenes, they could, in the end, be for nothing, for all we know, Stewart Robertson is actively trying to withdraw Rangers from the Sydney Super Cup but herein lies one of the problems – lack of communication.

On paper, Dave King has given the board the easiest of tap-ins with an offer to cover what the club would have made by going to Australia. Get the fans back on side, apologise, rearrange other games for Ibrox or somewhere else and all will be forgiven, just about.

What King wants in return – if anything – is, as yet, unclear but if it is as straight forward an offer as is being reported then it’s a no-brainer, he remains our largest shareholder and an influential presence in the club.

There are problems at Rangers being the scenes in terms of communication between the club and fans, PR and a total lack of judgement over “friendly gate” but they are not irreconcilable, taking King’s offer could be the beginning of a lot of bridges being re-built, I won’t hold my breath though.
