Rangers fans battle for equality in how they are reported on continued into this week after The Daily Record released a statement confirming that it is investigating a number of journalists who have used discriminatory language in the past.

At the risk of sounding like a 7-year old, The Record very much “started it” when they targeted the Heart and Hand podcast’s David Edgar, Ian Hogg and Cameron Bell, demanding that Rangers remove them as an official media partner because of historical posts made by them.

This has seen a concerted effort by fans where, whilst not condoning the actions of Hogg and Bell, they have targeted their accusers who themselves have been less than perfect.

Fans took to Twitter after The Record’s announcement, letting it be known that this is far from over and that it will continue until their is a fair representation of them and their club by Scotland’s media.

I’m pretty sure that if The Record could turn back the clock, they wouldn’t publish the story about the Heart and Hand contributors, or they would at least make sure their own house was in order first – stones and glass houses and all that.
