Rangers consider bargain summer move for creative attacker rated at £540,000

|

Rangers are considering making a move for attacker Greg Stewart, who is currently on loan at Aberdeen, as reported by The Evening Times.

According to Transfermarkt, the 29-year-old is rated as worth £540,000 but Rangers could end up getting him for free considering his contract at parent club Birmingham City runs out at the end of the season.

He’s spent time at Kilmarnock and Aberdeen in 2018/19, creating nine assists and scoring nine goals for the season, proving to have the kind of attacking flair and direct goal contribution that would good down well at Ibrox.

The potential move comes as the Gers pull out of a similar out-of-contract move for Motherwell youngster Jake Hastie, say The Evening Times.

The paper reckon the club have become frustrated with the pursuit of Hastie, but landing Stewart instead would likely go down well with supporters who have been impressed by his form this season.

Could Steven Gerrard be changing his priorities from prospects to proven top-flight performers?
