After putting to bed doubts surrounding his fitness when he first arrived, he has gone from strength to strength to be the backbone of our title winning side and become a club legend in the process.
Speaking to Football Insider, former Ger, Alan Hutton has been hugely impressed with the towering centre-half and has backed him to only get better:
“He just seems to be growing game after game. It’s quite scary to sit here and say this because he was magnificent last season, but he’s just taking everything in his stride.
“There’s a lot of pressure on Rangers this year, they’re the champions. Celtic aren’t looking the best at this moment in time so the pressure will be on Rangers.
“Everybody will be trying to shoot them down and Goldson just seems to be taking everything in his stride.
“No hassle, he cruises through games for me, it doesn’t look like he’s out of second or third gear.
“He’s so calm with the ball at his feet, just everything in general.
“Organising the back four, organising the midfield in front, he’s an ever-present, very rarely injured.”
For all that Leon Balogun and Filip Helander are hugely experienced and, on paper, our best centre-halves, Goldson is the heart beat (sorry!) of this team and would leave a huge hole were he to depart.
