Rangers have confirmed the acquisition of Jack Ade from Liverpool to fulfill an important role in Mick Beale’s backroom team.

He will effectively replace the departed Arno Philips whilst Jordan Milsom previously occupied the lead fitness and conditioning brief at Ibrox.

Ade previously said of his role in the Anfield setup where he was head of elite fitness development and U21 fitness coach:

“My role is to manage the academy sports science department to develop the physical qualities of elite youth football players alongside the coaching programme.”

“The aim is to develop Champions League standard players that can excel physically, are resilient to injury, and have an elite mindset to ensure a long and successful career.”

This development comes after Rangers confirmed further new faces would arrive, following on from Beale’s official confirmation on Monday as well as the appointments of Neil Banfield, Damian Matthew and Harry Watling to his support staff.

Another one or two is almost certain, following the clearing of the decks of Gio van Bronckhorst’s staff. It was also confirmed earlier this week that Roy Makaay, Dave Vos, Ceri Bowley, Arno Philips and Yori Bosschaart had all moved on from the club.

There has been some speculation that a Scottish coach could come in to supplement those already at the side of Beale as he bolsters the team of coaches and staff to get the most out of his squad. That is where the real work lies so hopefully the players are more conducive to the ideas and methods of the new regime in order to kick-start this season.
