Rangers have had a slow start the season performance wise but there are more than a few factors for this; the teams we’ve played have all been quite defensive, key players have been missing and new signings have been getting up to speed and adapting to a new team/style of play.

It’s not usually one thing that is the reason for sub-par displays rather a culmination and that is where we are at just now, however, with a two-goal deficit to overturn against Union Saint-Gilloise, we will have to find top gear pretty quickly and one man likely to be expected to play an important role is Antonio Colak who, after being asked if he was relieved to get off the mark officially against Kilmarnock, explained that the squad only has one target in mind, as reported by The Rangers Review:

“Of course, I am a striker and I have always scored. It’s not like you forget after one game. Of course, we didn’t have a good game on Tuesday but we know what we can do this Tuesday in front of our fans.

“We can turn this game around. It’s all on us, we have this confidence and just have to be more than 100 percent ready.

“I will give my best. It’s not about me but everyone. We will try to give everything on Tuesday. I have big optimism, it’s about giving everything, scoring goals and turning around the result.”

Colak has found the net in every game he has played except the first-leg – albeit it two were ruled out for offside – and hitting the target doesn’t seem to be an issue for him if he is given the right supply, get him the ball the width of the goals and he is capable of scoring with either foot and with his head.

With a higher intensity and desire to apply pressure, he should see a lot more of the ball tonight and should also get a lot more ammunition from the flanks, something that was in short supply in Belgium – if he doesn’t make the most of his chance he knows that he has a certain Alfredo Morelos getting closer to returning to the starting XI on an almost daily basis.

If El Bufalo stays on the bench tonight, the big Croatian has done his job and we can all go home happy.
