It’s being reported that despite claims to the opposite, Rangers expect movement in the chase for Aberdeen’s Derek McInnes and Tony Docherty within the next 24 hours.

The Daily Record report that the Dons want a £1million compensation package on the table prior to allowing talks to talk place, and that we will now make an official approach in the next 24 hours to end the six week search for Pedro Caixinha’s replacement.

McInnes has long been the bookies favourite here despite him distancing himself from the job and Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne saying that he was assured that McInnes wasn’t interested in the switch, but that certainly hasn’t stopped the speculation.

Speculation which only increased over the weekend following victory over Aberdeen where McInnes passed comment on our managerial search.

The next 24 hours will show if this is just another piece of that speculation or something concrete.
