Captain Conspiracy has been at it again, this time, Celtic cheerleader Chris Sutton has been suggesting that Rangers gesture of giving Partick Thistle a goal back at Ibrox was one that was based on the situation and the opposition rather than grounded in the spirit of the game.

This is the same man who was given an extended ban, nine games in total for his behaviour – and he has the cheek to berate Alfredo Morelos for his behaviour – for saying that Dunfermline lay down to Rangers when he was still a Celtic player, class and integrity are values that are not well known to Sutton so it is understandable for him to be confused.

Speaking on BBC 5Live, Sutton suggested that, had it been an Old Firm derby, Michael Beale might have made a different decision, via The Daily Record:

“When the Partick Thistle throw-in was taken, the left-back (Kevin Holt) had the most horrible touch, an awful one and Tillman was onto it like a shot. He goes round the keeper and then the Thistle goalkeeper almost knocked seven bells out him.

“It all kicked off and there was a kerfuffle. Michael Beale let Partick Thistle run straight through for the equaliser, so a brilliant gesture from Rangers.

“But here’s a question, just a yes or no answer. Do you think Michael Beale would have done that had they been playing Celtic?”

Similar to Charlie Nicholas, why are Celtic-minded pundits so obsessed with what Rangers might have done in a different situation, is it really that hard just to praise us for what we did do or, does it bother him that his own club has previous for displaying standards that are nowhere near the level of our own?

Jealousy isn’t an attractive trait, Chris. Let it go, just let it go.
